Astronomers Spy Surface Ice Through Titan’s Haze
Because so little light can escape its atmosphere, Titan is shrouded by an opaque curtain that has prevented planetary scientists from learning much about what lies beneath the haze. But work published today in the journal Science provides the clearest picture yet of Titan’s surface. The findings indicate that the planet is covered, at least in part, by frozen water.
