If you’re worried that you might have opened a door way to attackers by using a Sony cd on your computer then listen up. Sony has released a full list of their catalog that used ROOTKIT technology for copyright protection. As of yet the uninstaller provided by Sony is far more dangerous than the actual ROOTKIT itself so hang tight until someone releases a better fix. Don’t throw your Sony cd’s out yet either. It appears Sony is going to make good and offer replacement cd titles if you have one of the affected discs. Would you trust Sony after this? I wouldn’t.
