California’s election results are in and it’s a sweeping loss for the Govenator’s reform initiatives. So far the best coverage I’ve seen of the election results has been over at the San Jose Mercury News.
I was a little apprehensive with the electoral system here in California last night as the senior citizens working the polling place had an error in the scan machine meant to quickly tally results, couldn’t figure out how to fix it, had to call someone for help, and then threw out the ballot and made the gentleman remark it. Interestingly enough the machines themselves had the look of…well…paper shredders.
I suppose it’s good that the machine caught the gentleman had accidentally marked two candidates twice but, wouldn’t it have been easier to give out pencils for the scantron forms then pens?
