We get so busy with the “crap” we call our daily lives it’s pretty easy to forget what’s really important. For that reason I’d like to wish everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAYS (stop here, take a deep breathe, turn to the person next to you, smile, say “Happy Holidays”).
I remember my grandmother had some old glass bulbs on her Christmas tree. By the time I saw them, the glitter that decorated the bulbs forming intricate geodesic patterns and words had long since flaked off giving them a very aged appearance. I remember one time I asked her, “Grandma, why don’t you throw away these old bulbs and get some new ones?”
She’d just smile and say, “The message wouldn’t be the same.”
Even thought the glitter was a little worse-for-wear and I didn’t quite understand their meaning then, I think back to those old glass ornaments and remember the message clearly. On one side they said simply “Love” and on the other “Peace”.
I hope you all have a great holiday season and I’d like to invite you to help spread the message and brighten someone’s day. It’s not hard, just turn to the person next to you and say, “Happy Holidays” or “Merry Christmas” or whatever you feel like. You can post on your blog, send a text message or even leave someone a voice mail. It’s amazing the power those words carry. I hope you’ll help spread the message.
Happy Holidays. I’ll see you tomorrow.
