Reaction to Last Nights Presidential Debate

I’m wholly surprise by the number of people who watched and are commenting on last nights Presidential debate. In an effort to help everyone make an informed decision I’ll be posting comments I find around the web.

“Kerry did well and won by a nose, though both held up and didn’t make any huge gaffes. I’m happy to see the repetitious talking point tactic that Bush used over and over again to make Kerry into an indecisive candidate backfired for the most part. For me the most enlightening thing was hearing Kerry actually articulate his points. Until now I’ve been firmly in the “not Bush” camp and wasn’t too hot on Kerry as the choice, but this was one of the first times I’ve actually heard him lay out some details and I was happy to hear his stances on issues.” Matt Haughey, A Whole Lotta Nothing

“I think both candidates could have done better, Kerry seemed that at times he really wanted to “go there” but didn’t. He talked a bit too much at times, and while he did seem on the attack he didn’t address a few things he should have.” D. Keith Robinson, Asterisk

“Bush won the first debate.  He did what he had to do:  he held Kerry to tactical victories.” John Robb, John Robb’s Weblog

“I was surprised that Kerry didn’t hammer Bush on his administration’s incompetent conduct — including the blatant lying about deteriorating conditions in Iraq — since the invasion ended. If that’s not a vulnerability I don’t know what is. And I was surprised that Bush didn’t spend more time picking stuff out of Kerry’s Senate record, where his campaign has dug up all kinds of material (often out of context and unfairly, but nonetheless effectively).” Dan Gillmor, Silicon Valley – Dan Gillmor’s eJournal

More forthcoming as they are aggregated or I come across them.
