Beware Mac users. Apple’s most recent two security updates for OS X 10.3 Panther may cause your computer to become unresponsive forcing a hard restart and possibly reinstallation of the OS.
There are reports of such behavior in forums everywhere.
Of course, it could work just fine. My Powerbook G4 had no issue with either of the updates. A G4 800mhz, one originally shipped with 10.1, had no problem either. A brand new G5, of course, took a shit (to put it mildly). It appears to be a problem recognizing externally mounted drives but I’m not sure at the moment.
It’s odd how this sounds almost exactly like the initial reports posted by people who’d upgraded to the first release of Panther.
